Lowest common denominator.... 6 months is about as long as you can go for
the folks that rarely clean and live on Mountain Dew. Invariably they will have 3 new problems every six months. I think the "tradition" of 6 month checkups was developed long before insurance came along. It is ingrained. Many of my patients are seen once a year and do fine. But try telling a Mom her kid only needs a once-a-year when the rest of the world says "every six months". They think you are nuts and negligent.
