realize that there is NOTHING wrong with selling high and buying low. That is what you are supposed to do. Right now, stocks are high and bonds are low. The problem with bonds is that they may stay low but at least you would be buying low. You may not sell at the high point and buy at the low point, but locking in gains is a good thing. Successful gamblers do it all the time - it is the unsuccessful ones that don't.
So if you have a plan and your plan has a percentage breakdown of equities/lower risk options then stick to that plan!!! I put a bunch of sell orders in this weekend that will execute at the close of trading today. Stocks may continue to go up and I hope they do. I will stick to my percentage and my plan and if there is a significant correction I won't be hurt so bad ... and, in fact, I will have more cash to jump back in at the lower prices.
But when I was your age I had the same thoughts and then 2008-2009 happened. :)
