Been listening to the Cranberries stuff for last two days

I seem to do this whenever an artist I liked dies. It's like a small part of my past passing...

Anyway, Dreams had always been on my top 10, but I had forgotten how good their stuff is. It's mindblowingly good. Funny how I never appreciated it as much in its time.

It's got a kind of "pre-emo" vibe much like Toad the Wet Sprocket, another band from the same era... an underlying melancholy to most of the songs. It also has simplicity to it, a folksy sound (with the occasional grungy stuff like Zombie). Of course, the voice is one of a kind, powerful yet delicate at times.
