Road trip to the 'burg...
4 days off headed down tomorrow, a lot depends on getting my ass out of bed in the morning, I'll be sore from spinning class...just get up and go dammit. Big cup of coffee.
1) Get some hiking in on the way down somewhere.
2) Morgan Wade and the Stepbrothers at Dogtown in Floyd 8pm CD party. Floyd product, she's got the voice, can wail, very funny patter. I'll see if I was just in a good mood the first time I saw her or will I be able to say "I saw her way back when" (Also a show in Roanoke the following night.) I will probably buy a copy of the debut CD. Support live music.
3) Residence Inn, the 'burg.
4) Bball game at noon. If they lose, it won't be my fault.
5) Maybe visit the Geophysics museum on campus? Stuff I'm interested in these days. Never knew it was there.
6) New River Trail Conservancy 900 S. Main. Drop by, say hello, if I like them (if they're even open) maybe contribute a little. (Kinda the way I feel about charities these days, show me.)
7) Probably Greek Cellars for din-din. My traditional veggie pita bread with some sort of beer.
8) Sunday morning Bollos for sticky bun and good coffee. The view on Draper reminds me the way Blacksburg was back in the 70s. I sniffle a little bit, a tear creeping out of my eye. Where has the time gone?
9) I have Monday off, so I've got all day, go to cascades and see frozen cascades? Might be cool looking.
10) Pick up beer on way home Devil's Backbone for some of their black beer? or cut across to Warrenton to try Old Bust Head AS RECOMMENDED HERE ON THE LOUNGE!!! I might save the latter for an Old Rag trip.
11) More hiking on way back, Dinner at Cristina's in Strasburg, or someone recommended (not here) a restaurant "64 and 81" next to a Cracker Barrel. OK, that narrows it down. Won't stop me from trying to find it though.
12) Monday off, recover.
Yes, I think tats are low class but yeah, that's demographics ya know?
