Anyone know what exactly the "coca cola" sauce @ Japanese steakhouse is?


Kabuki, specifically, but it seems the same everywhere. It's black, thin, and not as salty as straight soy sauce. It's a little sweet, but there's something else going on as well. It doesn't have the teriyaki flavor either. Anyone know with any certainty what this is? The interwebs haven't been much help. They don't know either.
