it had the feel of a two team league (Loserville and Memphis State). VT games with the Cards and Tigers were fun environments and the Hokies won their share. I think this may be the fun part you remember.

The league also had FSU, S Carolina, Cincy, Tulane, So. Miss. No disrespect to any of these schools, but losing to these teams (or even close games with these teams) felt second rate. VT was still in the ACC footprint. While VT was playing So. Miss and Tulane... it felt like the area was focusing on uva/wake or md/ncsu or duke/unc, etc.

Plus, the Metro tourney was held in Freedom Hall every year... so glad to be rid of Dinner Crumb and that nonsense :)
