How? Shouldn't it be one generation and you're back?


IE, the huge number of people who died in WW2 and Stalin purge, ok, those are mostly men. But that's all age 70+ at this point, right?

And everyone born since then was (about) 50/50 male / female...so there's less men than women who are 70+...but since women live longer, that's expected anyway. But when you look at everyone less than that age, shouldn't it be (about) balanced?

I know China has an issue like this with more men than women due to the 1 child policy, and parents selecting boys, but I can't see how Russia is imbalanced except at the top of the age demographics.
