My day so far


Last night around 11:00 pm I texted my co-worker that I commute with on Mondays that if schools were delayed or closed due to ice that I was going to bag it and work from home. He agreed.

1:18 am. Smoke alarm starts chirping. vt90 wakes up. Chirping is coming from the 12 year-olds room and don't want to wake her up. Out of 9-volt batteries anyway.
3:35 am. vt90 is still awake and decides to go get some water. Steps in fresh cat vomit. Cleans up cat vomit.
5:35 am. vt90 finally gives up sleeping due to the damn chirping and heads downstairs. Waiting for phone call from school system that ALWAYS comes at 6:00 am when there is a delay or a closure.
6:02 am. vt90 texts co-worker to let him know I'll pick him up at 7 and showers and gets ready for work.
6:22 am. Opens garage door and discovers that 18 year-old blocked my car in when he came home from Super Bowl party. Moved his truck to the street.
6:25 am. Took pizza boxes and two bags of trash and recycling out to the trash can. Hit a patch of ice and went down. Trash, pizza crust, and beer bottles go everywhere. Too dark to find everything.
6:28 am. Made first cup of coffee to pour into commuter cup.
6:29 am. Went back outside to roll trash can down to the curb. At the base of the driveway, hit another patch of ice and went down hard. Passing driver noticed and appeared to laugh.
6:32 am. Made second cup of coffee and poured it all over my left hand, counter top, and floor. Cleaned up mess.
6:36 am. Left to pick up co-worker.
7:30 am. Arrive at work and checked phone. Mrs vt90 texted to let me know schools were closed.
