Good question, I dunno...the 1000 point drop implies a panic...


selling, buying opportunity ahead...maybe.

10 100 point drops implies a lot more sanguine selling, a more rational market maybe they're all moving into some other area for example.

the 1000 point folks are also the same folks who bought in the last year or so trying to catch the rise, creating a momentum market, so good riddance from the market, takes that crowd out of the game and leaves more long term investors so more rational behavior.
