Star Trek: Discovery has turned out to be a real surprise.

I never expected what it has become, but those changes made it great! Some marvelous new sci-fi with the spore drive and the alternate universe. The characters are astoundingly complex too!

Have you seen any of the Netflix series, Altered Carbon?
I'm still trying to grasp exactly what these people are. They act human, but haven't they lost some (or all) of their humanity on the way to immortality? A bit unnerving how accepting they are of that technology.
