It's not you, it's them. If you do that then you'll be giving them permission to download something..

So yeah, somehow they've hacked Yahoo or whomever and are loading their page instead of the Yahoo one. I just go Ctrl-Alt-Del and delete the browser. I wouldn't go for the upper right hand corner "X" because at this point that might be part of their "button" that is the whole screen might be one big button.

I've had that happen on TSL a few months ago, doesn't happen too often so I guess a lot of these servers know how to clean it up within a couple days just gotta be careful.
