The Sydney Olympics there was a swimmer from Africa...


and they had a heat where he was the only one in the pool, swam, and of course the time wasn't good enough and therefore he was done. But guessing the idea is that the continent had a placeholder that could be had and he did it.

Maybe this girl represented eastern Europe or something and by just being there she snagged kinda of a dedicated spot, or something? Pretty weird. And don't forget Eddie the Eagle.
