Recently had the same thing happen on my Surface Pro 3


It's a work computer, so I got the IT folks to troubleshoot it. They had to do the same thing - re-install Windows 10 with data saved. I still got the blue screen on the first reboot afterward, but it hasn't happened since.

Glad to hear you were able to buy some more time with your laptop!
