I just figure he ran out of ideas, plus he didn't really know how to end..


the story arc. There are guys like that who can just do these great brain dumps, Frank Herbert in Dune, or even Tolkien creating languages, and stories in every direction, but he's exhausted the universe he's created in his mind... maybe he's even...bored with it, might want to go and do something else.

There are little story arcs eg, trades the dragons for the slave-master's whip then, of course the dragon fry the slave-master and we left with the homily "no one owns dragons" or something like that. But there' no real arc over all the books so he has no way of ending it.
