Remember the VT student that got arrested on the "gun charges" in January?
It now looks like he might not have actually done anything illegal. Apparently he was legally allowed to own the AR-15, and the issue was he couldn't have a magazine with 30 rounds. However, the cops never found a 30 round magazine (and a video of him shooting at the range showed him with just a 20). So maybe it was just a mistake by the police?
Case is not officially over yet, but the judge said he thinks the charges won't stick (the judge also set the bond at $2,500 instead of no bond). So the kid got destroyed in public, kicked out of VT, and held in jail for over a month, and it might just be a mistake between a 20 or 30 round clip?
