Did it all for older stepson and my son


Stepson went to community college for two years, then transferred to Maryland. Since we lived there it was instate tuition. This was in 1992-1996.

I paid tuition for my son at Georgetown Prep from 1991 to 1995. He was accepted and went to VT from 1995 to 1999. Even though we lived in Maryland the costs were reasonable.

I could afford to do this. Many can't these days.

It may be more economical and better for some students to go to a community college the first couple of years then transfer to VT or other schools. Make sure the community college plan is set up to be able to have all credits accepted by the four year college.
