Scot already has a pitcher committed from Forest who's in the 9th grade.

I'm all for the changes. Women's lacrosse already changed their recruiting procedures. I think the end of their sophomore academic year is about the right time to be able to recruit ANY college athlete. Recruiting 7th, 8th, and 9th graders is ridiculous. That practice is the reason Scot fell behind in recruiting because he was still doing it the old (I call it the right) way. He told me back in 2011 that he was surprised that 13 and 14 year old girls were already committing to softball programs. He didn't think that was right but in order to survive, he had to do the same (which I don't blame him for doing so). That hurt our recruiting from around 2011 to 2014 because so many quality players were already committed. Our recruiting has picked up in the past 2-3 years.
