The forces for the cable stayed bridge are resisted by the pylons as shown


The suspension bridge has massive "deadman" anchorages at each end of the cable. That drawing does not show those massive blocks of concrete. That is why the cable and hangers are erected first to hold the deck and girders.
Those stay cables not being in place minimally still bothers my engineering sense of stability and structural integrity.
