This is actually what I did in 1982


But it was because we didn't have any money. So I did NVCC for two years, and transferred to VT. Then, because some credits transferred as electives and not as required courses, I had to take overloads most quarters (18 credits/6 classes, one quarter 21 credits/7 classes) to graduate in two more years, since we couldn't pay for more than that. It all worked.

The biggest downside was that I showed up at VT after two years as effectively a junior (technically a sophomore), and so I missed all the freshman bonding and knowledge. I moved into an apartment and started going to VT. It wasn't the same experience as someone who has been there for four years. I even wrote a letter to the editor to the CT about how transfer students were left out of new student activities, because those were all geared toward freshmen. No one cared, unsurprisingly. There weren't many of us.
