They only want plant managers like me to operate on cost and cost savings. I have to fight to get a margin report every month to know whether my plant is even making money(It is...most months).

Previous places I've worked, a plant manager was held pretty accountable for both revenue and cost and I like that model.

Here, the only real satisfaction they want me to have is to not spend money. I have to go around my elbow to get to my @$$ to get a revenue report for my plant.

Which ultimately takes me to yesterday when I'm inwardly celebrating getting a discount on a part when I'd rather be celebrating a great sales month coupled with a frugal spending month. I had a wtf moment.

Now it's a good company and I have a good manager, but I think that's a cultural issue I hope they strive to modify as they bring in new people like myself.
