One, apparently the stove I wanted was back ordered. But either no one at the store knew, or they chose to never tell me. They would give me a day it was supposed to be there, that day would come and go, I would have to call them to figure out what was going on, they would give me a new day, that day would come and go, I would have to call them to figure out what was going on, they would give me a new day, that day would come and go, I would have to call them....etc.

Not once did they ever attempt to contact me to tell me something was wrong. Getting the status of a month-overdue order was always my problem.

Ended up just cancelling the order and going somewhere else.

Another time, the order I placed specifically said deliver before 2pm, and the store said that was not a problem. But the delivery company called the day before to confirm delivery, but all they could tell me was "sometime tomorrow, between 9 am and 7 pm." Sorry, but that isn't good enough. Hell, even the cable companies can do better than that with scheduling, and they are hardly organizations to benchmark for customer service.

If you want to buy from a big box, my honest suggestion is only buy if they have it in stock, and have them load it on your truck right then and you deal with getting it home and hooked up.
