Last one I replaced was about 25 years old


But even then, it wasn't leaking, the heater just went out. So it went from being a water heater to just a water tank.

Not exactly a lot of moving parts in a water heater. Unless you have hard water that is just eating it from the inside out, no good reason they shouldn't last 20+ years.
