Definitely stay at one of the on-site hotels so you can get early


admission to the park. When you get there go straight to the Harry Potter area because the place gets absolutely mobbed. The ride lines are very long (even by amusement park standards) and the shops are all way too small to accommodate the crowds. Its best to do the Harry Potter stuff in the morning and then some other part of the park in the afternoon.
