...was pulling Virginia Creeper vines, and didn't notice there was some poison ivy vines in the mix. It would be at the middle of summer, and I was wearing shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops. I didn't know what I had encountered until a day later when I started feeling it. Arms, legs, tops of my feet...even drug it across my cheek, thankfully that was very minor. I was in agony for at least a week.

I bought a jug of poison ivy/poison oak killer, and I take a good close look at any vines in my yard. If they have 5 leaves down the vine, it's creeper & gets pulled by hand. If not, it gets the crap sprayed out of it with that week killer. I haven't seen much since that incident, although I did find some growing in the flower beds in front of the house. I think that's completely dead now, but I'm still nervous about pulling it...the oil is still present after the plant is dead.
