Marcus Vick, the former Virginia Tech and NFL flameout, better known for his unhinged nature than anything he did on a football field (apart from that 2006 stomping of a Louisville player defenseless on the ground), has been flippantly referring on social media for the past few days to a “tainted” ex who “caught herpes chasing money.” The identities of the ex — and the source of said money — came to light Tuesday morning.

“Damn @CutOnDime25 gave my babymama them herpes he got,” Marcus Vick wrote, using the handle for McCoy — who hasn’t responded to the allegations.

Earlier, a lay tweeter said McCoy “stole” the woman Vick was seeing, to which Vick replied: “He have herpes anyway.” Both tweets were leavened by sad and/or laughing emojis, the 21st-century way of lightening a situation concerning baseless charges of a sexually transmitted disease for which there is no cure.

The “babymama” Vick refers to is Delicia Cordon, the mother of Vick’s daughter. The two split in 2014, and though it was reported at the time to be an amicable parting, the model and fashion designer responded quickly and cruelly — in tweets that were later deleted — after seeing Vick spread vile rumors to his 23,600 Twitter followers."
