Highly invasive plant that was brought here cuz it's pretty.


Grew natively in mountains in Eurasia, peeps brought it over in the early 1900s. Thing spreads like running bamboo though and is capable of going nuts. It's all over the eastern seaboard now so it won't be long before we're seeing it in Florida (if it's not already here).

I think the furthest south they're aware of it being right now is NC.

Crazy thing is that it eliminates your skin's ability to reflect UV rays.
