The lazy answer is "it depends."


Some kids are more responsible and mature than others.

There were times I was more comfortable leaving my younger kid home alone than my older one. And they are five years apart.

But I'd spitball it at 14 or so. Maybe 13 or 12 if they are particularly mature for their age. If you'd feel comfortable with them babysitting, you should feel comfortable leaving them at home by themselves overnight.
