I agree with most of what you say, but if the tip amount should be related


to the quality of the service. If a waiter/waitress is really good, they get 20% minimum. If they are very average, they get 15%. If they are inattentive and/or rude, they get 10% or less. I don't believe in rewarding poor performance just because I can afford to. They see the tip amounts and should realize that the harder they work and the nicer they are, the more money they make. That is something that should apply to everyone.
