Start with the free educational section of Investors Business Daily

And stick with no-load Mutual Funds or ETFs. Don't try to pick a handful of stocks yourself.

Investors Business Daily ranks each sector and the stocks in each sector for you according to their CANSLIM method. They also rank Mutual Funds and ETFs.

They have their own ETF of the 50 best stocks (FFTY) and an ETF of the best ETFs (LDRS).
