As an alum attending orientation
It was quite surprising at how the pronouns and inclusiveness was such an enormous part of the orientation. I get why they had it but it was almost two hours before anything academic was discussed. And then only 15 minutes. Next time was at the individual college discussions around 345.
The second day was better as the focused on scheduling and got some insight We had also been there twice before for tours and spend the night and this was not how the university presented itself-felt like they waited until students were committed first
Also noticed $285 orientation fee on bill. However they charge $35/guest to attend as well so orientation is a moneymaker
Finally, picked up a CT while I was there and saw they want enrollment to hit 43k by 2026 and have the duck pond be the open area and no longer the drill field. Many changes ahead.
