In general, go out of Hatteras if you are going to do Gulfstream. Prices are typically a bit cheaper plus you are much closer to the Gulfstream than out of Oregon Inlet. Travel is at least 30 minutes less, which gives you at least another hour of fishing. Plus you can fish the gulf there off the coast between Hatteras and SC where a lot of species hang out in that are taking a break from the gulf stream swim.
