FYI... Interesting note from Blacksburg High School...

The PISA test is used to compare student learning around the world. As many know, this is where the rankings come from that say the US is #13 in the world.
This normed test is given to 15 year olds.....however, countries can select which students take the test. Also, in many countries, only selected students are even able to go to "traditional" school. Of course, in the US, we take all students of all abilities.
That said, last year our school district selected the top 20% of students at BHS to take the test. Their scores were higher than the rest of the world.
I know most don't care, but being a teacher in Blacksburg, it makes me proud.
