Absolutely and they should
Its' one involving money and illegal influence (SEC is second to none on that), but when you have programs, that place student athletes in personal compromising situations, (i.e. Penn State, Mich State, or Maryland) or embrace an out of control coaching staff that ignores one of their members out rageious wife beating (and other compromising activities). That is deep.
It sorta says alot, in regards to how they selected expansion candidates.
1. went after maryland, a financially strapped program, and a vulnerable new president that just wanted the challenges of athletics to go away. (basically big 10 bought them out for TV rights)
2. Rutgers, (took an insider from the Big ten network, who was also a rutgers alumni, who worked similar package for another financially strapped university who needed to be bailed out.
3. Led Missouri into thinking they would be added to the big 10, and even got them to leave the big 12, then turned around to pick up nebraska. A school that chose to leave the Assoc of American Universities. (and didnt tell them till after the contract was signed).
Sounds like a disparate conference.
SEC is the SEC
ACC just keeps on chugging.
PAC 12 just does the 'west US thing.
