I watched every lap of every race every year - come hell or high water - when Earnhardt was racing. I was a huge Earnhardt fan. The year he passed I continued to watch and pulled for Kevin Harvick, Junior, Steve Park. There was some really compelling TV that year. The next 2-3 years I was in and out - I'd check to see how Junior was doing. If he was doing well I'd watch; if not, I wouldn't. As you know he didn't do well often. And he never really did well so I never really watched. The last 15 years I may have watched enough bits and pieces here and there to add up to one whole race. This year I haven't watched one lap of any race. I take that back - I heard Junior was driving in the Busch race or whatever it's called this past weekend so I kept my eye on the ticker... he was winning late so I tuned in. I probably watched the last 5-6 laps of that race.

Anyway, for me it was all about Earnhardt. Same with golf. If Tiger is in contention I watch; if he's not, I don't.
