We are getting together in two weeks (weekend of October 20 - bye week) with 5 other couples in Blacksburg. We all went to Tech together in the early 70s. We chose this weekend since hotel rooms were obtainable and affordable. I have been to Blacksburg about 30 times since I graduated and, with one exception (my nephew's graduation), every trip has been planned around a football game which left very little free time. We will be arriving later on Thursday so we will have two full days in town plus Thursday night and Sunday morning. We have reservations on Saturday night at The Farmhouse. The rest of the weekend is open although we have talked about a possible trip to the Cascades and Mountain Lake. Two of the couples have not been back in 30 years so much will be new to them.
So, where to go and what to see? Any suggestions would be appreciated. We also need casual restaurants for Thursday and Friday nights. Also, where would be the best place to find parking on or near campus if we just want to walk around?
