Maybe there will be less 1st rnd upsets, but there are positives to this.


One of my biggest peeves with the random seeds is the large number of same conference rematches in the 1st round. While this will not eliminate those, it should reduce the number of those rematches between conference opponents that are on the same talent level - example - Ramos vs Bolen last year.

I like that it will reward top 6 or so seeds for their accomplishments during the year.

Also now a middle of the pack guy (17-25 seed) that's likely not to AA, but still is good enough to win a few matches for you doesn't have to risk facing the #1 seed 1st round.
