Yeah, I have a lot of skepticism here


and the WSJ agrees with me (or me w/them, I forget) pointing out that index funds have beaten the stock pickers for the last few years. So some people are paying an astronomical 1.5% of their portfolio - not earnings - to have them lose money for you. Awesome.

This is one of those areas that one should build an educations for themselves, read articles, understand compounding, budgeting etc. A good financial manager should beat it into your head that you can't beat the market ... nor can your favorite stock picker. So I dunno, you need to talk to someone smarter than yourself to understand these things, but 9 times out of 10 these guys are not on your side. I get offers for free dinners at semi-nice places if I listen to a lecture on finances and get a hard sell to sign up for their services. That would be a bad choice.
