It’s not quite the same thing but ...


my wife bought tickets for and our two collage age sons tickets to see TransSiberian Orchestra a few years ago shortly before Christmas. We thought they played a Christmas music and were looking forward to a holiday concert. It was way more than that. First off, they are an arena rock band with a few songs that are “Christmasy” but deep down they are a theatrical rock band. Their show was a combination arena rock show, Vegas act, Cirque de Soleil, Blueman Group, Kiss Concert, etc. They had lasers, fire cannons, elevating stages, parading backup singers, an orchestra, giant screens, dynamic pyramid things that opened in the audience and shot out stuff, and more. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. And when it finally ended and I was stunned. No one got up and left. And then I realized it was only intermission and there was another half to go. I was entertained, shocked, embarrassed, and laughing nervously all at the same time.
