Full story is he was standing in the hotel lobby with his bag as we were walking in and I nudged my buddy and was like "look at this John Lennon MFer over here" and my buddy laughed but kind of stopped and started looking serious. When we were sufficiently away he says "Dude I think that's Rick Springfield" and I said "no way, Rick Springfield is dead, it ain't him" and that was that. That was that until we were in the bar waiting for the rest of our group and he walked in and sat down at a table next to us. My buddy goes "dude if that IS Rick Springfield you have to ask if we can take a picture." The rest is history! I did have to drink 4-5 bourbon and cokes to get up the nerve though.
