I'm entirely serious

People vote for all sorts of stupid, even reprehensible reasons. Sure, the ideal is that we voters are all fully aware and educated on as many issues as possible, that we do our research and dig through the slime that is political advertising and sus out what all the candidates really intend on doing when in office ...

But the reality is that if we could all be perfectly informed, then we wouldn't need representatives at all. So sure, there's better and worse, but worst of all is not participating in the slightest. When I say "find an issue you care about and vote for it" I'm not encouraging someone to devote their life to becoming a zealot. Just to find something about which they care enough to become involved in the political process.
