Wish they would.
It was a stupid appointment based on 1) he once played for Saints and 2) he "led" them to survival last season. In reality, survival was due to Swansea being more terrible and a shinned-in goal by Gabbiadini against Swansea. They should've shaken his hand, said thanks for keeping us up and gone back to the managerial well. Of course, the Board chose not to, in large part because they'd made successive bad choices (Puel - either the appointment, or moving on from him after 8th & a Cup final despite boring football; Pellegrini, which was an outright disaster).
I think the fact that they're on manager #3 in 3 seasons means they'll hold out until at least Christmas, but hopefully no longer than that. Defensively, they are pretty poor, and other than Ings (thank God for that deadline day signing) they have no one that can score.
Now, maybe they will get lucky again this year because there is some real garbage in the bottom 6 (Fulham, Huddersfield, Cardiff, Newcastle, Saints, Burnley).
