I've given serious consideration to retiring in Latin America ...

in part due to very cheap medical care. Also, overall cost of living & climate. Specifically Costa Rica & Peru. Wife won't buy it, doesn't want to have to learn Spanish. Even though there are expat communities where Spanish isn't necessary, although it is encouraged.
