Some of the pictures from the Cali fires had me wondering about the trees


The amount of devastation is horrible all around, especially with the lives lost and missing.

One thing that stands out in some of the videos and pictures is how many trees are still there despite the entire surrounding area of structures being gone. Found this article and it was interesting to learn that not only are some built to survive fires, but some actually need the fires to release new seeds. I had no idea that some trees actually needed fire. So here is a little forest reading for your Friday.
