I was asking at what threshold does the NFL consider all assaults the same? My opinion is that from the NFL's perspective (i.e. - not from a legal standpoint), Hunt's punishment should be equal to Rice's. I'm pretty sure Hunt would have pummeled that girl like Ray Rice did his wife had other people not intervened. I understand he didn't take it quite to the extreme that Rice did, but I think the intent was there, as evidenced by the fact that he kept going after her after getting separated.

Bottom line, I feel the NFL needs to treat any physical assault by a player with a blanket punishment and not try to get into judging degrees of severity. It's one thing when the charge is an allegation, but in this case, the incident is documented by video footage, so there is no doubt about what transpired. The court system can sort out the severity of the legal charges, but I think the league needs to treat assaults seriously and equally.
