Grabbed her wrist? Suppose he shoved her and she fell? Suppose he gave her a true, forceful kick? Suppose he pulled out a blackjack and clubbed her unconscious? All the same thing? Far from it, in my opinion, whether we're talking about legal or league repercussions. And yes, there should be league repercussions but I think no criminal charge is probably the right call. Can you imagine how full courtrooms would be if everybody that did this on surveillance camera was arrested?
