For those of you who have "Vision" insurance, what do they pay for glasses?

Is what they pay strictly for basic frames & lenses, but do they also cover the majority of the cost of "designer" frames, sunglasses, and Transition (type) lenses?

I love my Transitions lenses, because you only need to have one pair of glasses instead of both "indoor" glasses and sunglasses.

The reason I asked about designer frames & sunglasses is that I also have a pair of RayBan Wayfarer sunglasses with polarized lenses that I wear when boating or fishing...or fishing from a boat.

If they don't cover that stuff, I don't need to purchase a "high" level policy when a standard will do. I'll just order my glasses online and pay out of pocket.

Never enjoyed contacts, so I'll probably pass on those. I also have no intention of having vision corrective surgery until I have cataracts, so that isn't needed. I just want yearly eye exams & glasses.

TIA!
