If it was my vehicle, I'd change the fluid based on the towing maint. sched


Then again, I tend to do most of my own maintenance, so it's less expensive to do things more often and cautiously. But, I imagine if you have an issue with the transmission, and the vehicle is under warranty, the dealership will ask when the fluid was changed and will try to use the fact that it may not have been changed "as recommended" against you to absolve themselves of any responsibility.

Is this a Honda Pilot?

And no, I don't trust mechanics so much.
