Update...
I just confirmed that I do have power to the outside disconnect, but both fuses in the disconnect appear to be blown (no voltage at load side of either fuse, and no continuity through either fuse). So that is at least part of the problem, but I suspect that this is merely a symptom of the real problem. What caused the fuses to blow?
Another interesting development is that it does not appear that there was an issue with power to my house. I got suspicious, because normally when we lose power, I get a notification from my home smart hub that power was lost. That didn't happen yesterday. So I called my neighbor, who confirmed that there was no outage in the neighborhood.
So now I am thinking that whatever caused the fuses in the outside disconnect to blow caused a power "blip" long enough to reset the stove clock and upset the alarm panel. As a funny aside, when I got home last night, the dog had pooped all over the floor inside. I'm starting to think that maybe the power "event" may have been audible and literally scared the crap out of the dog.
I'm going to try to dig into testing the capacitor and the contactor next. If those check out, I'll be calling an HVAC tech. I'm starting to wonder if the outdoor fan motor blew, or worse, the compressor. If the fan motor went bad, would it be likely that there would be continuity between the fan housing and one or more of the power wires feeding it? I'd like to try to eliminate that possibilty if I can.
Stay tuned...
