So, what did you all think about the crowd for NC State?
It was announced at just under 4,200. (Not sure how they count that, because they don't charge or take tickets or anything, so I think there are people literally sitting there counting fans in the seats.)
I had hoped to break the record set against PSU in Nov. of 2015 (just over 5,000 fans), but I think the fact that VT lost to UNC (and the meet with NCSU wasn't for *all* the marbles) took a little bit of wind out of the sails.
I also think that wrestling is a tough sport for the average person to warm up to, so building the fan base bigger than its current size is going to be a long play. TSL can do a better job of more consistently covering the program. Looking at the traffic stats for articles since January 1, the big traffic still comes from football and basketball (before JRob's injury, the basketball articles were doing some pretty darn good traffic), and wrestling, as you can imagine, is lagging.
For example, the article about VT basketball beating NC State 47-24 did over 10,000 views. Knox Kadum and Brock Hoffman committing to VT both did about 8,500 views.
The wrestling articles from the last two weeks did 1,500 to 2,200 views each, with the exception of the "Two Shocking ACC Results" article, which did 4,300 view -- the power of strong wording in the title, I guess.
