Nothing like knocking off over $300 on a new set of tires!

Thank you Costco Executive membership and Costco Visa! I think the combined rebate was ~$310. The Visa is free, and the Executive membership is $110/year. Not a bad return on investment.

And yes, this is my second set of tires this year (2 vehicles). Had hoped to get a few more months out of the Bridgestones on the Honda, but the tire leaks have gotten much worse with the latest Artic blast. One tire dropped to 20psi two days in a row, so I had to pull the trigger. It has two tires that required air once a week, but the interval has been dropping. It was down to 4 days, but the cold must have gotten to one of the tires. There's probably another 20K of tread left on this set, but the tires won't make it.

Out of my last 12 Bridgestone tires, three began leaking air during the latter half of their life cycle. That's a 25% leak rate, so beware. Bridgestone has lost my "buy" recommendation.

I also don't worry about buying 60K+ mile tires, since the sidewalls will develop cracks long before the tread wears out.
